I was partnered with Steve to discuss trends
in our fields and in adult education. Steve works as a Marine Diesel Mechanic for B.C. Ferries. Through our discussion, I noticed that despite the obvious difference of each field (mine being food and beverage), the focus has shifted to climate control and global sustainability. We discussed this and how our two industries are just a peek into what is happening everywhere.
In trends in adult education, we discussed how it has become a necessity to teach students how to use new technology and A.I. before entering the workplace. Older systems are being replaced by computers and students need to know how to troubleshoot with these systems. We agreed that this revolves around the concept of general safety in workplaces and lowering risk for injury, which starts in the classroom.
